Winter Storm System Bringing Heavy Snow, Rain and Wind Across the U.S.

The system has clobbered the Sierra Nevada with snowfall of up to three inches an hour and is expected to develop into a major winter storm from the Central Plains to the Upper Midwest, forecasters said.
