Amit Panghal, who won India gold in 2018 Asiad, is a junior commissioned officer (JCO) and is ranked as Naib Subedar with the Indian Army. He hails from Maina village in Haryana's Rohtak district and is the son of a farmer who owns only one acre of land. Panghal at times had to fight matches on an empty stomach.
